Mirjam Hässig is celebrated for her versatility, originality, and immersive vocal sound. She discovered her love for sound at an early age and began experimenting in various ensembles.
Born in Burgdorf in 1995, the Swiss singer and composer now lives in Oberburg (BE).
She frequently collaborates on interdisciplinary productions. For example, she composed and performed for the art performance of Basel-based artist Bernhard Chiquet at his exhibition and participated in dance projects such as Feu, Ami de l'Homme and the music and movement piece Superman, inspired by Laurie Anderson. In 2024, she composed the film score for Alfred Hitchcock’s black-and-white classic The Lodger and performed it live with her quartet, Ayé!, at the Burgdorfer Krimitage.
In 2017, she earned a bachelor's degree in jazz vocals from the Bern University of the Arts, followed by a master's degree in Jazz Vocal Performance in 2020 and a master's in Jazz Vocal Pedagogy in 2022. She has studied with renowned musicians such as Andreas Schaerer, Efrat Alony, Susanne Abbuehl, Veka Aler, Claude Eichenberger, and Stephanie Szanto.
In 2019, she founded her quartet, Ayé!, and won the Kulturförderpreis Burgdorf the same year. In 2021, Ayé! released its debut album, Coralland which won the Audience Award at the ZKB Jazz Prize. This was followed in 2024 by their second album, The Moon Sets Twice. In 2025, Ayé! was selected to be part of the Suisse Diagonales Jazz Tour 2026.
As a composer, Mirjam Hässig is involved in the projects Ayé!, The Optics, and duo collaboration with Django Bates. Until now she has toured throughout Germany and Switzerland.

Mirjam Hässig wird für ihre Vielseitigkeit, Originalität und ihren einhüllenden Stimmklang geschätzt. Schon früh entdeckte sie ihre Liebe zum Klang und begann, in verschiedenen Formationen zu experimentieren.
Die 1995 in Burgdorf geborene Schweizer Sängerin und Komponistin lebt in Oberburg (BE).
Immer wieder wirkt sie an interdisziplinären Produktionen mit. So komponierte und performte sie beispielsweise für die Kunstperformance des Basler Künstlers Bernhard Chiquet an dessen Vernissage oder nahm an Tanzprojekten wie Feu, Ami de l’Homme sowie dem Musik- und Bewegungsstück Superman, inspiriert von Laurie Anderson, teil. 2024 schreibt sie die Filmmusik zu Alfred Hitchcocks Schwarz-Weiß-Film The Lodger und führt sie mit ihrem Quartett Ayé! live an den Krimitagen Burgdorf auf.
2017 schloss sie den Bachelor in Jazzgesang an der Hochschule der Künste Bern ab. 2020 folgte der Master in Jazzgesang Performance, 2022 der Master in Jazzgesang Pädagogik. Sie erhielt Unterricht u. a. bei Andreas Schaerer, Efrat Alony, Susanne Abbuehl, Veka Aler, Claude Eichenberger und Stephanie Szanto.
2019 gründete sie ihr Quartett Ayé! und gewann im selben Jahr den Kulturförderpreis Burgdorf. 2021 veröffentlichte Ayé! ihr Debütalbum Coralland, das mit dem Publikumspreis des ZKB Jazzpreises ausgezeichnet wurde. 2024 folgte das zweite Album The Moon Sets Twice. 2025 wird Ayé! für die Suisse Diagonales Jazz Tour 2026 ausgewählt.
